Rebound hammer / Schmidt hammer

The Schmidt hammer serves for the non-destructive determination of the compressive strength of concrete. With a test energy of 2.207 J an impact plunger bounces onto the concrete surface and rebounds. The rebound energy is indicated in kg/cm² on the scale of the measuring device. For a safe result it is recommended to carry out the tests at different places of the concrete. As the compressive strength of concrete is specified in N/mm² the measured average value must be converted accordingly. Example: The designation C20/25 indicates normal concrete with a compressive strength of 25 N/mm².
